• Hold Your Learner’s License for at Least 12 Months – You are eligible to take the road test 365 days (1 year) after receiving your Learner’s (L) License.
• Practice Driving Regularly – It’s highly recommended to log at least 60–80 hours of driving experience before attempting the test.
• Follow ICBC’s Driving Restrictions – Ensure you follow learner restrictions (e.g., displaying your ‘L’ sign, supervised driving, and time-of-day limitations).

• You can book your road test up to 180 days (6 months) in advance.
• This means you can schedule your appointment before your eligible date to secure a time that works for you.
• Booking early helps avoid last-minute rushes and ensures availability at your preferred ICBC testing location.

To better understand the road test booking process, let’s break it down with a sample timeline:

• Learner’s License Issued:** January 1, 2025
• Earliest Road Test Date:** January 1, 2026 (365 days after receiving your license)
• Earliest Booking Date:** July 5, 2025 (180 days before your eligible test date)

This means that if you received your learner’s license on January 1, 2025:
You must wait until January 1, 2026 to take your test.
You can start booking as early as July 5, 2025.
